This problem has been corrected in this release and the index operations should now work correctly.

The problem has been corrected in this update.
BUG FIX – AccuBuild Mobile - In a previous update the transaction codes were expanded for AccuBuild Mobile time card entries to include transaction codes 21-24 and 121-124 however the displayed time card entries were still being filtered for transaction codes 1-4. IMPORTANT PAYROLL CHANGES FOR 2013
New Medicare Tax for 2013
2013 New Medicare Tax for Affordable Care Act (aka “Obamacare”). Starting in 2013, employers will need to withhold an additional 0.9% for Medicare Tax for wages that exceed $200,000 regardless of the employee’s filing status (married or single). The additional tax will be included with normal Medicare Taxes on the W-2 for 2013 so no new boxes will be required to report this additional Medicare Tax amount on the W-2, the total for ALL Medicare Tax will be reported in Box 6. According to the IRS, the 941 Tax Return for 2013 will be changed to incorporate a new line to report these Medicare Wages that exceed the $200,000 threshold so that the additional Medicare Tax can be reported.
IMPORTANT: This additional Medicare Tax is withheld from the employee’s payroll check, however there is NO MATCH required by the employer like there is for NORMAL Medicare Taxes.
The 2012 year-end update for AccuBuild will contain new changes to automatically compute this new additional Medicare Tax when an employee’s year-to-date Taxable Medicare Wages exceed the $200,000 limit.
Health Insurance Reporting on W-2s for 2012
Reporting Health Coverage on Form W-2. In 2011, the IRS introduced new reporting requirements for Health Insurance on Form W-2 in Box 12. A new code “DD” was introduced to report this amount which represents the total cost (employer and employee portions) of all health related insurance policies (medical, dental, vision, etc.). The IRS emphasized that the new reporting to employees is for their information only, to inform them of the cost of their health coverage and does not cause excludable employer-provided health coverage to become taxable; employer-provided health coverage continues to be excludable from an employee’s income, and is not taxable.
Per IRS Notice 2010-69, issued last fall, this requirement was optional for 2011 W-2s. For 2012 W-2s, the IRS provided further relief for smaller employers (those filing fewer than 250 W-2 forms) by making this requirement optional for 2012.
At the end of 2011, AccuBuild added this new coding option “DD” for Box 12. Since these amounts do NOT involve any type of deduction amount, there is no way to automate the calculations for these amounts because they are based on the total amount paid to the insurance provider for the year on behalf of the employee for all health related insurance. The best way to report this is to update the Employee Box 12 amount in the Employee List using a flat amount prior to printing the W-2s.
DISCLAIMER: Please check with your CPA for payroll reporting requirements and questions. AccuBuild is STRICKLY a software company, and does NOT provide ANY type of tax advice. The information provided here is to alert you of these new reporting requirements so that you can do the proper research with your CPA to figure out how these new tax laws apply to your company and take the necessary steps to implement these new reporting and withholding requirements.
